A few years ago, a major price differential emerged between oil and natural gas; that differential is now expected to persist for decades. As new technologies allowed for the capture and use of natural gas, market rates for this resource fell to historically low levels. Across the nation, manufacturers cut their operating costs by relying on natural gas to power their equipment, machines and vehicles. With an abundant supply of this resource available in the U.S., the stage was set for a renaissance in America's industrial sector.

Governor Mitch Daniels joined executives from plastics packaging producer TriEnda LLC today to announce the company's plans to locate a manufacturing operation in the former Thomson Manufacturing center here, creating more than 340 new jobs by 2012.

The maker and distributor of thermoformed plastic pallets, trays and materials handling and packaging products plans to invest more than $20 million to site a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution center at the former center in the northeast Indiana city.

Rittal Corporation has announced plans to create a world-class customer-centric U.S. headquarters in suburban Chicago, IL, to better serve its United States customers. Rittal is the largest company in the owner-operated Friedhelm Loh Group based in Germany — with 11 production sites, 64 subsidthiaries and 10,000 employees worldwide.

The company will open the doors of its newest North American location August 22, with a state-of-the-art Customer Center of Excellence including a technology and training center, and expanded showroom going live in the Fourth Quarter of the year.

ZFOn July 12th 2012 Governor Steve Beshear announced that ZF Rubber & Plastics Hebron LLC will expand its Northern Kentucky manufacturing operation, adding more than 60 new jobs to its current full-time workforce of 206.

The company's $17.9 million investment will increase the existing Hebron facility by 52,000 square feet and allow for the purchase of new equipment to manufacture bushings, engine mounts, anti-vibration products and plastics components for the automotive industry.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin joined company executives and other dignitaries in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the newest milestone for Gestamp West Virginia. The automotive stamping plant in South Charleston is now officially in operation. Gestamp announced its intention to move into the formerly-shuttered plant in April 2012 and started small scale cold line product production by September.
